46 year old cougar Vivica A Fox just celebrated her birthday and she was in the “A’ at the Bronner Brothers hair show over the weekend promoting her new wig line,  Vivica A. Fox Hair Collection. Viv had her baby boy Slim on her arm and boy does she look happy.

Viv looks amazing for her age, but that look from head to toe is a total fail! And yes hairstylist extraordinaire, Derek J is wearing thigh highs… Gotta love it!

Hair Mary: How to Get Your Weave Game Right

If only I had Derek J and Ursula Stephens on speed-dial when I got my first weave! A  full, Bella Swan-esque weave, I couldn't care less it didn't look real because only three things mattered: it was long, wavy and chestnut brown. My second weave, a half weave, was a little better but the texture as well as the color was a little off. My hairstylist did the best she could but I would have fared better (I think) if I had invested in quality hair extensions, like the ones from Extensions Plus or Indique Virgin Indian Hair. Check out some the tips they dished for Juicy Magazine's "Weave Care 101" article:
On washing your weave: "Weave hair should always be washed in a downward motion either in the shower or in a salon-style sink with a conditioning shampoo like Motions Lavish Conditioning Shampoo. Avoid being rough with the wash or doing it upside down as this will cause it to tangle, potentially resulting in you having to remove it completely." --Hairstylist @UrsulaStephen
On wrapping your weave: "Nighttime maintenance depends on the style you're wearing. If you have a long straight weave, wrap it up at night to keep it sleek, protected and tangle free. For a curly weave - a loose bun (or a loose braid) is a good way to keep it intact. (Stephen) Wrapping your weave with a silk or satin scarf prevents split ends. Yes, weaves can get split ends!" --Hairstylist @Derekjhair
On reviving your weave (synthetic): "Wash the synthetic piece with dish detergent to remove all debris. Once the hair is squeaky clean, use a cap full of fabric softener in water and swirl the piece in it. Because synthetic hair is a material, fabric softener will act as a detangling conditioner." (Derek J) Who knew?
